Tutor Agreement

1. Independent Contractor Status

By listing on HanyuLab, you confirm that you are acting as an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, or partner of HanyuLab or Pearson Wang Group. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with local laws governing self-employment and income from tutoring.

2. Eligibility

To list as a tutor on HanyuLab you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have demonstrable Mandarin Chinese language ability (native or near-native proficiency strongly preferred)
• Have reliable access to a device and internet connection suitable for video-based lessons
• Not have any unspent criminal convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, or safeguarding

3. Profile Accuracy

You agree that all information on your profile — including qualifications, experience, languages spoken, and specialties — is accurate and complete. You must not misrepresent your credentials. HanyuLab reserves the right to verify claims and suspend or remove profiles found to contain false information.

If any profile information changes (e.g. you complete a new qualification), you must update your profile promptly.

4. Rates and Commission

You set your own hourly rate. HanyuLab currently takes 0% commission — you receive the full lesson fee minus any payment processor fees charged by our third-party payment partner.

If HanyuLab introduces a commission structure in the future, you will be notified no less than 30 days before any change takes effect. You may remove your listing if you do not agree to the new structure.

5. Lesson Conduct

You agree to:

• Attend all booked lessons on time and prepared
• Give learners at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel
• Conduct sessions professionally and respectfully
• Not record sessions without the explicit written consent of the learner
• Not share learner personal information with third parties
• Not solicit learners to move lessons off-platform to avoid platform fees

6. Prohibited Content

You must not deliver, share, or discuss in sessions any content that:

• Is unlawful, harassing, threatening, or abusive
• Constitutes hate speech or discrimination
• Is sexually explicit or inappropriate
• Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Contains misinformation presented as fact

7. Reviews

Learners may leave reviews after completed lessons. You may not offer incentives for positive reviews or request removal of legitimate negative reviews. HanyuLab will investigate and remove reviews that violate platform policies (e.g. fake reviews or reviews containing personal attacks).

8. Suspension and Termination

HanyuLab may suspend or permanently remove a tutor account for:

• Repeated cancellations or no-shows without notice
• Learner complaints substantiated after investigation
• Providing false information on a profile
• Violation of this Agreement or the platform's Safety Guidelines

Tutors who wish to close their account may do so at any time by emailing tutors@hanyulab.com. Outstanding lesson fees will be paid within 14 days of account closure.

9. Tax and Compliance

You are solely responsible for declaring and paying all taxes applicable to your tutor income in your jurisdiction. HanyuLab does not withhold taxes on your behalf. We may provide annual earnings summaries on request to assist with your tax filings.
